TCS Raffle/ Silent Auction

The Corner School Silent Auction and Raffle will be held Friday May 1st in the TASB Pre-Con area. Please feel free to stop by and invite friends to stop by and bid on all of the great items that were donated to our school. The raffle will be held Friday at 2:00. Tickets are still for sale they are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

Barnes and Noble Fundraiser for TCS!

On Saturday May 2nd, Barnes and Noble Bookstore in the Arboretum is sponsoring a book fair benefiting The Corner School. There will be a reading by our very own Carol McPherson as well as an art activity for the children. If you mention that you would like your sale to go toward TCS between May 2nd and May 9th , a percentage of the sale will come back to the school. For Corner School Parents: I will place vouchers in your child's cubby that you can present to B&N to make sure TCS receives a percentage of sales. The vouchers are not absolutely necessary but they are already printed and they look so nice! :)

Spring has SPRUNG!

I cannot believe it is already April. Spring is in full swing around here and the weather is not letting us forget it! March brought wind, rain, cold, a snake!, incredible hail and even a few fantastic sunny days. Ryan Shield’s daddy visited the school to teach us about weather and we are all learning how unpredictable it can be. The teachers have done a fantastic job planning alternate activities just in case they are not able to take their classes outside. I have seen some really fun activities taking place all around. Joni and Carrye’s class put their gold hunting skills to work on St. Patrick’s Day. They ventured out into the TASB building and picnic tables searching for leprechauns and gold nuggets that were hidden throughout the area. The Journey Room teachers are working overtime as they adjust their routine. They have welcomed a new teacher, Kristen Miller and are changing up their daily schedule a bit. The children have been learning new songs and Ms. Gloria is making some really cool “teacher-made” materials for the room. Each classroom is humming with playful sounds and squeals as our teachers lead pajama parties, silly shoe parades, and introduce live hissing cockroaches, a tarantula and, literally, hundreds of lady bugs to the children. We also celebrated the works of everyone’s pal, Dr. Seuss.
We have said “hello” to our newest friend. Atlee’s baby brother, Canon Olofson began on Monday in the Odyssey Room. We welcome Canon and know he’s going to settle in nicely. Atlee is thrilled to have Canon right down the hall. We also have to wish three of our friends a sad farewell on Monday April 6th. Will, Marci and Josh Adkinson are moving and we are going to miss them. Good luck to you all and don’t forget us!

Just a few reminders:
*Our Annual Egg Hunt will be held Thursday, April 9th from 3:00 to 4:30. We will be “gathering eggs” for our hunt until Wednesday April 8th.

*April Music payments are due, please bring your check in Monday April 6th if you would like you child to participate this month. The new rate is $15.00 for one child and $5.00 for an additional sibling.

*On May 1, there will be a silent auction/raffle benefitting The Corner School. Prize donations are still being accepted and parents will be asked to sell tickets. More details to come!

*Ben’s mommy, Mindy Gardener has designed an adorable new Corner School t-shirt and we will hold a t-shirt sale in June.
